Kaylie McTiernan

Mechanical & Industrial Engineering

Kaylie's research focuses on offshore wind turbine platforms. In particular, as offshore wind turbines are getting larger, the platform scaling and dynamics need to be better understood. Her research focuses on scaling relations for floating offshore wind turbine platforms using numerical and analytical methods.

Kaylie grew up in Gloucester, MA where she gained an appreciation for the ocean. Kaylie received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, and her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Marine Affairs from the University of Washington.
