Kaylie McTiernan

Kaylie works in Professor Krish Sharman’s Ocean Resources and Renewable Energy Lab and her research interests include offshore wind turbine fluids modeling and storm survivability.

Kaylie grew up in Gloucester, MA and completed her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in 2014. She gained experience doing a wind turbine senior capstone design project and a wave energy cooperative education placement. Her interest in engineering research with socio-environmental implications led her to her dual Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Marine Affairs from the University of Washington in 2018.
