The University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center was recently awarded a $4 million grant from the U.S. Departmnet of Energy to complete the first phase of an offshore deepwater wind demonstration project. UMass IGERT affiliates are participating in the research, which aims to complete the engineering, design and permitting of the wind project.
