Gordon's talk will focus on the research conducted during his 2 year post-doc at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, as well as the general experience of a post-doc abroad. In addition, he will discuss his current position as an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University and ongoing work with a senior design group developing a windmill powered boat.
Gordon Stewart got his Bachelors, Masters and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UMass Amherst during 2005-2016, supported by an IGERT fellowship for his PhD. His Masters and PhD research focused on the controls and loads analysis of offshore floating wind energy. Gordon went on to pursue a 2 year post-doctoral research position at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, and is currently an adjunct professor at Roger Williams University.
