History and Current Status of US Offshore Wind Development

Matthew Palmer is a power industry professional skilled in acquisition, development, and management of power generation assets. He has over 30 years of experience spanning both renewable and conventional technologies, including wind, solar, natural gas, liquid fuel, and solid fuel. Matt’s experience in offshore wind in the US goes back to attendance and speaking at the first Cape Wind public hearing in 2001. From there he co-founded and was the first Executive Director of Clean Power Now, a Cape Cod-based grass-roots advocacy group that supported the Cape Wind project and offshore wind generally. Matt later served as Project Manager for Engineering for Cape Wind, and now manages the offshore wind business for WSP, a global engineering firm with over 45,000 employees.
