Wind Energy Fellows Hannah Johlas, Kaylie McTiernan, Amber Kapoor, and Destenie Nock helped organize and run a workshop for 4th and 5th grade Girl Scouts on April 20th. They assisted the girls through a series of hands-on activities about why boats float and how scientists/engineers solve problems, culminating with the girls designing and testing their own model paddle boats. The workshop was hosted by the Graduate Women in STEM (GWIS) Outreach Committee, currently co-chaired by Johlas and Nock.
