Jacob Davis

Mechanical & Industrial Engineering

Jacob’s primary research interests pertain to the studies of hydrodynamics and offshore renewable energy systems.

Jacob graduated from UMass Amherst with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 and will continue his education at the university in the pursuit of a Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Krish Thiagarajan Sharman. Jacob began work in Professor Sharman’s Offshore Resources and Renewable Energy lab during his senior year as an undergraduate, and has since been assisting with the development of the group’s wave-current laboratory. In his first research project, he will be assisting in the development of a wave energy converter device in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He has a passion for energy systems and sustainability, and looks forward working and learning alongside the Wind Energy Fellows community.
